Math Website from Associate Professor Sotirovic

We have a math test on Wednesday and I'm not crying 'Mommy'-I'm crying 'Sotirovic'.

Here is a website with math problems for journalists that she gave her 'Research Methods' class last semester.

Statistics Help for Journalists

I also have the link to a site by Steve Doig that provides math problems similar to the ones on the last worksheet.

  1. I HATE MATH. I am definitely one of those people who uses the argument, "I wanted to be a journalism major so I wouldn't have to do any math." I am well-aware that this really isn't a valid argument, but at least the math is relatively simple. (O.k., so i do find it kind of hard haha but I'm getting better at it!) I'm glad I came across your blog entry because I will probably look over those Web sites before we take out second lab test on Wednesday. When it comes to math, I need all the help I can get. So, thanks for posting those sites that give math help. I will most likely check them out!

  2. I must say that I do not love math either. I hate percentages and fractions and if I don't have a calculator, I really have no hope to figure out the answer. I think that I, like Sarah, will probably spend a lot of time looking over how to do some of those problems before out final test on Wednesday.
